Norma Jeane Mulder, age 83, of Holland, went to her heavenly home on Monday July 28, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She was born and raised in Holland, graduating from Holland High School in 1949. She received her degree in Nursing from Roseland Community Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago in 1952. Norma was an RN on the staff of Holland Hospital for 39 years working in Medical Surgery and Obstetrics. In 1956 she married William Mulder. Norma and her husband raised their family at Hardewyk Christian Reformed Church, then later returned to First Reformed Church where they were married.

Norma was a caregiver. Admired for her strength and in her own quiet way was the backbone of the family. She set her own needs aside to care for others; especially in the direct care of her husband William in the last 6 years. She had such grace and dignity and a pure un-denying love and devotion for her family and her Lord. She loved gardening, her church family, ladies Bible study, choir, and her very dear friends of many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Mulder Jr. in 2013, grandson Zachary Ter Haar in 2012, brother Paul Van Dyke in 2014.

Surviving are children: Jed and Jill Mulder, Jeane and Paul Ter Haar, Nancy and Jeff Deters, Mike and Shawna Mulder; grandchildren, Jacob Ter Haar, Elias Ter Haar, Alison Mulder, Abigail Mulder, Rachel Mulder, Benjamin Deters, Alexis Mulder, William Mulder, Robert Mulder; sister Ruth and Ivan Schreur, in-laws Nora Van Dyke, Dorothy Plasman, Helen Nelson, Paul and Ann Mulder, John and Ellie Mulder, Roger and Beverly Mulder; as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at First Reformed Church in Holland. Officiating will e the Rev. Dr. Dan Gillett and Rev. Diane Schrotenboer. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 7-9 pm at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes Inc 188 West 32nd St. Memorial contributions may be made to The Bridge Youth Ministries or Hospice of Holland.
