Michael Steinbach

Michael George Steinbach, age 84, of Holland, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home in Madison, MS. He was born on December 14, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Michael, Sr. and Anna (Schriner) Steinbach. Michael was co-owner of Bangor Dairy and worked for Sherman Dairy. He was a realtor in South Haven and recently, he was a maintenance supervisor at Martin Luther Memorial Home in South Haven. He and Marcia A. Cosgrove were married on October 31, 1993 in Traverse City. There were many hobbies and interests that Michael enjoyed, such as traveling the United States, his motorcycle and fishing. He also cherished the dogs he has had throughout his life: Queeny, Indie, and Fritz. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael, Sr.; his mother, Anna; his infant sister, Katherine; his brother, Peter; his sister, Marion Thaler; his daughter, Lynn Frohriep; and his former wife, Irene. Michael is survived by his wife, Marcia; his sons, John, Gary (Sandra), and Michael Steinbach; his daughter, Janet Parry; his children by marriage, William and Adam Scharinger; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 4-9 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St. in Holland. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association and American Lung Association.
