Roger S. Christiansen

CHRISTENSEN, ROGER Roger S. Christensen, 79, passed on July 20, 2014, after a short bout with Cancer. He leaves a son, Jeff R. and Lisa Christensen; two grandchildren, Jake, 22 and Lauren, 18, and former wife and good friend, Sharon Blaine Christensen, all of Grand Rapids. Roger has two brothers and two sisters, Jack and Nancy Christensen of Caledonia, Jerry Christensen of Lake Worth, FL, Marilyn and Craig Schaefer, of Hinsdale, IL, and Dorothy and Dr. Michael Kaminski of Nashville, TN. Roger also has several nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Margaret Christensen. Roger dedicated 60 years to building his business, Christensen Tree Service, recently adding his son, Jeff, as his partner. Roger so enjoyed a sunny and calm 70 degree summer day to comfortably get his work done. In the winter, he enjoyed splitting firewood to use and sell. Roger was honored by the Better Business Bureau with a lifetime achievement award for perfect company service. Roger has enjoyed the friendships of many of his customers and he wished to thank all of you for your patronage throughout the years. Roger's favorite pass-time was roaming the great state of Michigan, especially the Upper Peninsula. Cremation has taken place.
