AMON, ESTHER Mrs. Esther Mary Amon of Rockford, age 83, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014. Esther was born to Einer and Blanche (nee Borst) Jorgensen in Big Rapids, MI on December 12, 1930 and had been a long-time resident of the Rockford area. Esther lived a very accomplished life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and wonderful grandmother. Esther spent almost 60 years with her husband, Richard, watching the family they created together grow into what it has become today. Esther was known as many things; a Sunday school teacher, a Boy Scouts den mother, a bank teller for Michigan National for 35 years, and the best entertainer Big Brower Lake had ever seen. She loved entertaining family, friends, and neighbors. Anyone and everyone were always welcome to their house on the lake. Esther's Fourth of July parties were something special, never forgotten by those in attendance. Esther leaves behind her loving son, Martin (Marjorie) Amon; grandchildren, Eric (Andrea) Beckett, Julia (Eric Mattox) Amon, Jeffrey (Heather Cady) Beckett, Thomas (Crystal) Amon, Mark (Amber Poe) Beckett, and Christine (Sean Copenhaver) Amon; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Kaden, Ashton, Caroline, Jackson, Aaron, and Evelyn; and step-grandchildren, Shanda and Casey Berenbrock. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Richard; and daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gary Berenbrock. There will be a time of visitation from 6-9 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. The funeral service for Esther will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Pederson Funeral Home; there will be a one hour visitation prior to the service; Rev.
