Helen J. Mayes, age 88, of Vicksburg, MI passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Tendercare of Portage. She was the daughter of Sophie and Harry Hilbert born September 17, 1925 in Wadsworth, OH. Helen is survived by her three children: Ken and Sally Mayes of Schoolcraft, Jerry and Judy Mayes of Vicksburg and Michael Mayes of Oxford, North Carolina; grandchildren: Emily, Kenny, Jennifer, Ellyn and Kirsten; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Rita VanDyne and Janet Green. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joe Mayes; and three brothers, John, Frank and Frederick Hilbert. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at Schoolcraft United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM.
