Patricia (Lear) Meiner of Plainwell passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2014 in Allegan.

Pat was born March 4, 1927 in Detroit, the daughter of Ervin and Clara (Wilde) Lear. Her family moved to North Muskegon where Pat attended school and graduated from North Muskegon High School in 1944. She married William (Bill) John Meiner on September 18, 1948. After the death of her husband and retirement, she moved to Plainwell to be closer to family.

Pat held a variety of jobs but after her daughter left for college, she began a career with Muskegon Public Schools. Dedicated to her family, she hosted countless gatherings. She enjoyed keeping up her home and always welcomed her friends and family with open arms and goodies. She was a member of the Muskegon United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and her four brothers Marlyn, Glenn, Melvin and Wallace. Surviving are her daughter Susan (Gordon) Peterson; grandchildren Lindsay (Terence) Holroyd and William Peterson. Also surviving are three great grandchildren Alexis, Terence and Trinity and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on July 23 at 11:00 AM at the North Muskegon Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the American Cancer Society.
