James Hoffman Jr., age 88, of Holland, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at The Inn at Freedom Village.
Jim was born in Hackensack, NJ on May 29, 1926, to James and Catharine (Hekhuis) Hoffman.
He graduated from Hope College in 1950.
Jim retired from First Michigan Bank where he was former VP and Director of Marketing.
He was a member of Third Reformed Church and a former member of Trinity Reformed Church, where he served on the greater consistory.
Jim served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Jim is survived by his wife Eleanor of 64 years; children, Sara Steben and Steven Hoffman; brothers-in-law, Thomas and Lois Van Dahm and Howard Van Dahm; nephews, nieces, cousins.
A memorial service will be 2 pm, Thursday, July 10, in the auditorium at Freedom Village (6th floor), with the Rev. Kent Fry officiating.
Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.
Visitation will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or the Third Reformed Church Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel.
