Ken Gowell has devoted his life to helping others.

As a young man growing up in the little town of Fruitport, Michigan, Ken led an active youth, with a love of sports, fishing, swimming and playing in the band. But Ken was also very impressed with a local funeral director, who had a big influence on Ken's life. "That's the kind of person I want to be," Ken thought then.

Today, he most certainly is that kind of person.

Ken graduated from Fruitport High School in 1973, and then attended nearby Muskegon Community College for two years. But in 1986, Ken took the biggest step of his professional career, by graduating from Wayne State School of Mortuary Science, and becoming a Funeral Director himself.

Since then, Ken has helped countless families begin the healing process for their grief, by fully understanding what families need from him in his role of Funeral Director at Clock Life Story Funeral Homes.

"It's my job to please and to serve them in every way," Ken explains, "and to give to them something positive from their personal death experience."

It's something Ken takes great pride in, as well as great personal responsibility. Ken prides himself on his professionalism in the workplace, as well as a great empathy and caring for his client-families.

Ken cares for his own family more than anything, however. Together with his wife, Deborah, and their two sons, Cameron and Stephan, the Gowell clan still resides in his home town of Fruitport. In his free time, Ken enjoys spending time with his family, biking, working on home projects or attending his sons' school functions.

Not surprisingly, Ken's family and friends would describe him as loyal, dedicated and trustworthy. That's the kind of person Ken set out to be. And that's the kind of man he is today.
