Died Sunday June 8, 2008 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Aernie was born December 14, 1933 in Oshtemo to Clarence and Dorothy (Rose) Aernie. For many years he was employed with Clausing Industrial, retiring in 2004. Bob enjoyed fishing, watching Detroit Tigers baseball and doing yard work. In 1952, he married Velma (Spencer) Wiborn and they divorced. On May 7, 1966 in Kalamazoo he married the former Charlotte Morgan and they were married for 42 years. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2008. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Robert Aernie, Jr. (Terri) Udilla, NE, Debra (Orbie) Brooks of Holland, Chuck Aernie of Mattawan, Joe (Joanne) Aernie of Langley, WA, Laurie (Peter) Hoag of Allegan; two step-daughters, Gaye Levian of Plainwell and Susan Morgan of Otsego; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three half-sisters and one half-brother; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steve Aernie and two brothers, Raymond and Eugene Aernie. Friends may meet with his family from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the

where services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM, with his grandson David Levian officiating. Interment will be in West Cooper Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Kent County Humane Society or the National Law Officers Memorial Fund.
