F. Dewane AcMoody

F. Dewane AcMoody, age 82 of Union City died January 28, 2007 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born July 6, 1924 in Girard Township to Carrell and Arlene (Thompkins) AcMoody. He married Letah Mowrey on August 12, 1944 in Coldwater.

Dewane lived in Branch County all his life and where he was involved in farming and his community. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where he also served as President of the Lutheran Congregation. He was on the DHIA board, the PCA board, the Union Township board and the Board of Review. He was a 4-H Swine superintendent, a founding member of the Union City Athletic Boosters, a Little League coach and he called square dances in the local area. Dewane loved his grandkids, horses, dancing, farming, watching sports and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife; Letah; 2 daughters; Linda and Don Waite, Phyllis and Tom Gillette; 2 sons; Vernon and Janice AcMoody and Brian and Kelly AcMoody all of Union City; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 2 brothers; Dale and Elizabeth AcMoody of Girard and Howard and Linda AcMoody of Elkton, MI, several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son Neil.

Visitation for Dewane AcMoody will be Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Union City.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. David Dodge officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard Township.
