Obituary
MOLLEMA - Bernard J. Mollema, aged 91, of Grand Rapids, peacefully left his earthly home on Saturday, November 14, 2009 and is now home in heaven with his Lord, whom he longed to see. Bernard was a genuine man of integrity who displayed his Christian faith throughout his life. He had a strong desire to help others and expand the kingdom of heaven, and was actively involved with Right to Life, Life International, and the Pregnancy Resource Center. Bernie was the former owner of J. Mollema and Son, Inc., where he turned a small business into a major wholesale horticultural supply company. He was a veteran of WWII, proudly serving his country in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie; and granddaughter, Julie Heemstra. Surviving are his wife, Marge Kamps-Mollema; daughters, Judy and Pete VanderArk, Mary and John Heemstra; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; step-children, Ken and Gail Kamps, Don Kamps, Tim and Jackie Kamps, Kathy and Dave Ymker, Beth and Ray McCanless, Jeff and Michelle Kamps; 20 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Don Mollema; and several extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 3500 New Holland St., Hudsonville, with Rev. Steve Krogh officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
