Lucille E. Mallow Battle Creek Lucille Elizabeth Mallow, 88, of Battle Creek, died August 13, 2008 at Battle Creek Health System. She was born January 24, 1920, the daughter of Clarence and Delcie (Brauker) Tuttle in Branch County, Michigan. Lucille graduated as the valedictorian from Union City High School in 1937 and from Jackson Business College. Lucille married Earl P. Mallow on September 1, 1940. He passed away in 1988. She is survived by her son, James Mallow of Battle Creek; daughter, Sue Ann Pope of Battle Creek; brother, Robert (Norma) Tuttle of Sherwood; a niece and a nephew; and her granddaughter, Wendy Pope of Battle Creek with whom Lucille had a very close and special relationship. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Lucille was a member of O.E.S. in Sherwood and Central Christian Church and its Senior Group. She wintered in Bradenton, Florida. Lucille considered herself a farmer's wife and enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crafts and watching live theatre. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Gordon Pippin officiating. Interment, Burr Oak Cemetery, Athens. Memorial donations may go to Central Christian Church or the American Heart Association. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.
